On myths Xibalba consists of 9-layers or levels. Seemed snake-like cave or grotto. The entrance was - a steep cliff, presumably rock. In Xibalba were the so-called "House of the tests," where people were tortured. The very essence of Xibalba to wean through torture a person's soul from the body.
